This policy explains what information Ahlgren Media Group LLC ("we") handles when you use the Slipway app, buy a subscription, email us, or visit this website.

Your course files

The app opens and saves course files only on your own computer. Backups and recovery copies are kept on your computer too. Nothing from your courses is sent to us or to anyone else.

License checks

To activate and check your license, the app sends your license key and your computer's name (for example "Office-PC (Windows)") to the license service run by our payment partner, Lemon Squeezy. The computer's name lets you see which computers are using your license, and it is how one license is counted across 2 computers. The app repeats the check from time to time while it runs. Like any online service, the license service also sees your computer's IP address when the app connects.

Update checks

The app looks for new versions at slipway.deanahlgren.com/updates, a folder on this website, and downloads updates from there. Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs for each request: the IP address, the date and time, the file asked for, and the app or browser version. Our web host keeps these logs for security and troubleshooting. We don't use them to identify you.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. It collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details, and processes them under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can provide your license, answer support questions and keep business records. We never see or store card numbers.

Emails to us

When you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and refer back to it. If you ask us to tell you when downloads are ready, we use your address for that and nothing else. If you send us a course file to help solve a problem, we use it only for that and delete it once the problem is solved.

This website

This website sets no cookies and loads no analytics, tracking scripts, advertising or outside fonts. It is hosted by Hostinger, whose servers keep the access logs described above.

Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with Lemon Squeezy and our web host as described here, or when the law requires it.

Where information is kept

We're based in the United States, and the information we hold is stored there. If you live elsewhere, it's transferred to the United States when you buy or email us.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email us and we'll respond within the time the law where you live requires. For information Lemon Squeezy holds, you can also contact it directly. We keep order records as long as tax law requires. If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Slipway is made for working professionals and isn't directed at children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
